Chrysa Ostenso
Chrysa was born in South Milwaukee and moved to Mount Prospect, Illinois a suburb of Chicago where she graduated from Sacred Heart of Mary High School in 1981. She was active in theatre and choir. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Spanish from Lawrence University, Appleton in 1985 where she enjoyed being part of the women’s rugby team. After college, she moved to Chicago and worked in the field of employment training and job placement of Southeast Asian refugees.
When Chrysa and Erik moved to Ladysmith and purchased the practice, Chrysa was a stay at home mom to one, two, three, then four young children. She set up a computer system for the practice and did the bookkeeping on evenings and weekends. Now she is employed full time with the practice as practice manager and optician. Chrysa is active in the community volunteering at her church, school, and the Chamber of Commerce. She enjoys high school sporting events, boating, waterskiing and going to the gym when she can find the time. Although she never considered this career before meeting Erik, she loves working as an optician and all of the challenges of being a business owner but she especially loves all of the great people she meets and serves everyday.
Trista Kurth
Trista Kurth graduated from Phillips High School in 2008. After graduation she was hired as summer help at Jeld Wen Windows and Doors in Hawkins, Wisconsin. She enjoyed her short time there. In the fall of 2008 Trista moved to Madison, where she attended the Madison Area Technical College for the Optometric Technician Program. The one year flew by. She really enjoyed the program and all that she learned. Upon completion of the program Trista obtained two certifications, the CPOT Certified Paraoptometric Technician and the ABO American Board of Opticians certification. In July of 2009 she was happy to become a member of the staff here at Dr. Ostenso’s.
Trista is currently living with her family - mom, dad, and younger sister. She has two pets: a cat Smidges, and a chinchilla Lola. Trista enjoys reading and loves art, especially painting.
